Alta Jane Donald

Alta Jane Donald age 101 of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 surrounded by her family.

 

Alta was born on November 2, 1916 in Pittsburg, Kansas to Elmer and Susan (Ritter) Fields.  She was the last living of ten children, two died at the age of two  She grew up and attended school in the Pittsburg area.    On July 24, 1936 she married the love of her life, Alfred Donald in Lamar, Missouri.  Together they raised their two children in the Coffeyville area.  Alta worked at Taylor Bag and other various establishments in Coffeyville but her most accomplished was as a homemaker.  She valued her family and the care she provided for them.

 

Alta enjoyed shopping often times having more endurance than her family, one of her shopping desires was often for a new couch, she also enjoyed reading, being outside, and visiting with people, she never met a stranger.  She had a wonderful sense of humor. Alta along with her daughter and daughter-in-law enjoyed traveling to California, for an annual visit to see her sister celebrating their shared birthdays.

 

Those left to cherish wonderful memories of her life is her son, Steve N. Donald and his wife Priscilla of Romona, OK: daughter,  Connie Louise and husband Jerry Marlow; grandchildren, Rebecca "Becky" D. and husband Joseph G. Green of Collinsville, OK: Shawn Marlow of Coffeyville, Dusty Donald and his wife Angie of Claremore, OK; five great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.  She is now resting with her husband who preceded her in death on May 5, 2000, her parents Elmer and Susan, siblings, Elmer "Bud" Clover Fields, Lawrence "Jack" Andrew Fields, Lewis "Ike" Calvin Fields, Edward Lindy Fields, Violet Louise Evans, Christene Maude Hestand, and Donna Charlene Pifster.

 

Funeral services will be on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 10:00 am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, KS, with Pastor Furan Jackson of  South Coffeyville United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will take place immediately following the service at Fairview Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2 to 4 also at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.  The family has requested that memorial contributions be made payable to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be left in care of the chapel.
