Kansas City edges the Houston Astros, 4-3 in 10 innings. Salvador Perez was the hero, bashing a walk-off hit in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Denny Matthews had the call of the game winner at Kauffman Stadium.
The Royals are 7-4 on the season, tied with the Detroit Tigers for second place in the division, and just one game back of the Minnesota Twins.
They will look to make it six in a row tonight in Game 2 of the Astros series, with Seth Lugo on the mound for Kansas City, and Spencer Arrighetti making his Major League debut for Houston.
