Jerome Tang is a finalist for a coaching opening in the SEC.

 

Tang is one of two finalists for the Arkansas head men's basketball coach position, with the other finalist believed to be Mississippi coach Chris Beard. Former Arkansas coach Eric Musselman left after five seasons to become the head coach at Southern California.

 

Tang appeared on the Field of 68 Podcast yesterday. When asked about the rumors, he says he's just glad he's not on the hot seat.

 

Tang signed a seven year extension in September, after winning National Coach of the Year and leading the Wildcats to the Elite Eight in his first season. The extension has a $6 million buyout if Tang were to leave before the end of April.

 

Tang says the community of Kansas State basketball is a special one.

 

Tang is 45-25 in two seasons at KSU, and just announced the first transfer portal signing yesterday.
