The NJCAA Division 1 chase for a championship is nearly here, with a pair of Jayhawk teams the top two overall seeds.

 

The Barton Cougars open as the top-rated team in the men's tournament, and will play the winner of Daytona State and Walters State on Monday afternoon.

 

Two other men's programs qualified for the tournament, with Cowley the No. 9 seed, matching up with Allegany Maryland on Sunday, and Hutchinson the No. 11 seed, battling USC Salkehatchie on Monday.

 

The Hutchinson Lady Dragons are the No. 1 overall seed in the women's tournament, following an undefeated regular season and Region VI championship. They will play the winner of Cochise and Chattanooga State on Wednesday.

 

Dodge City was the only other KJCCC women's team to qualify, earning the No. 18 seed, and squaring off with East Georgia State on Tuesday.
