The Erie Red Devils begin their quest for a state title today, matching up with Salina-Sacred Heart in the state quarterfinals.

Erie is 18-5 under first year head coach Braven Born, coming off a major upset win over St. Mary's Colgan in the sub state title game.

Sports in Kansas spoke with Born ahead of the state tournament. He says the team's confidence is through the roof.

Erie has been led by talented upperclassmen including Ethan Dillinger, Reid Duff, Michael Rickenburg, and Daniel Choi. Born says the team's fight stands out to him.

Erie is the No. 5 seed for the state tournament, and will face the 20-3 Knights this afternoon.
