Nado Split on the Road at LCHS

 

With both head coaches out, Coffeyville splits with Labette County as the Lady Nado fall 43-31 and the Nado boys win 49-43.

 

In a low scoring first half the Lady Nado found themselves down just one at the half 13-12. The Grizzlies would get things going in the second half outscoring Coffeyville 19-13 in the third and 11-6 in the fourth. Three Grizzlies scored in double digits lead by Landry O'Brien with 13, all in the second half, Naveah Jones added 11 and Kayton O'Brien had 10. Erin Lopez lead Coffeyville with 11 and Taiylor Caron had nine.
 

The Nado boys were looking to continue their hot streak after winning the North Country Classic Championship in Tonkawa last week. Coffeyville jumped out to an early lead up 25-15 in the second half. LCHS got hot in the second half cutting into the Nado lead shooting 71% and scoring 28 points. The Nado would hold off the comeback with some clutch free throws. Zay Logan led Coffeyville with 16 and Jake Horner added 10. Hudson Baker had 18 for the Grizzlies Assistant Ray Rutherford picks up his first win as he was filling in for Head Coach Griff Walker, who was celebrating the birth of his son.

 

The Nado have a week off before head to Pittsburg on Friday with the girls at 6:00pm and the boys to follow on Sonshine 98.9 KQQF.
