Wildcats Square off with NC State in Pop Tarts Bowl

The 2023 edition of the Kansas State Wildcats puts a bow on their season tonight, facing off with the North Carolina State Wolfpack in the Pop Tarts Bowl.

This is the first all time meeting between the two schools, with NC State ranked No. 18 in the nation, and KSU ranked No. 25.

The game signals a changing of the guard for Wildcat football, with true freshman quarterback Avery Johnson getting his first career start, just a year removed from being the top rated dual-threat quarterback in the nation.

The Wolfpack have a dynamic quarterback in Brennan Armstrong, who led the team in both passing and rushing, and contributed to over 2,000 total yards. The NC State defense is led by linebacker Payton Wilson, who is the winner of both the Bednarik Award and the Butkus Award, racking up 138 tackles and 17.5 tackles for loss this season.

Coverage of Kansas State and NC State begins at 2:30 p.m. CT with kickoff at 4:45 on the Mighty 690, KGGF.
