Caney Defeats Sedan In Overtime Thriller

The Caney Valley Bullpups won their first game of the season, as they defeated the Sedan Blue Devils 44-43 in overtime.
Colt Hightower showed why he's considered one of the top players in Kansas 3A, as he led all scorers with 25 points. Ben Matthews scored seven and Payton Darden added six in the victory for the Bullpups, who improved to 1-4 on the season.

The inside - outside combo of Hightower, Matthews, Darden and James Kistler proved to be deciding factor in the win, along with great defense by Jackson Griffin.

On the girls side, Alyssa Scott scored nine of Caney's first 11 points, as the Lady Bullpups defeated the Lady Devils 54-25.
Suffocating defense led Caney's 25-8 at halftime.

The Bullpups will travel to Dewey in a doubleheader matchup Friday night.
