A former Red Raven football coach has been named a Power 5 Conference head coach.

 

Willie Fritz was named the newest head coach of the Houston Cougars, following his tenure at Tulane. The Green Wave experienced mass success under Coach Fritz, picking up the 4th most wins in Division 1 over the past three seasons.

 

Despite a majority of college football putting a majority of time and resources into the transfer portal, Coach Fritz says his program will continue to focus on traditional recruiting.

 

Coach Fritz spent four seasons as the Red Raven defensive coordinator, from 1987-90, contributing to a national championship victory in the 1990 season.
