There is plenty of hype surrounding the nationally-ranked Coffeyville Lady Ravens entering the season opener, and a large reason for that is sophomore guard Kyleigh Ortiz.
Ortiz began the season on the bench, but entered the starting lineup following an early season injury, and ran with the opportunity. Kyleigh finished the season second on the team in scoring, averaging 10.2 points per game and shooting 38% from 3-point range.
During the course of the season, Ortiz had many clutch moments, hitting big shots to close out both Hutchinson and Dodge City in the Regioin VI tournament. She says she believes in herself with the game on the line.
Ortiz was a high level scorer and shooter in her freshman season, but she says she's looking to improve her game this season.
There will be plenty of eyes on the sophomore guard when the Lady Ravens open the season tomorrow night against Labette County, on US 98 and the Red Raven Sports Network.
