KU, KSU Women's Basketball Receives Preseason Praise

Basketball season is just a few short weeks away, and fans of Kansas and Kansas State women's basketball received exciting news about the programs.

The Jayhawks are projected to finish in third place in the Big 12 this season, with the Wildcats predicted fourth.

This is the fourth top-three projection for KU in program history, and first since 2009-2010. For the Wildcats, this is the second time under coach Jeff Mittie that KSU has been slotted in the Top 4.

Additionally, both the Jayhawks and the Wildcats have a trio of players on the preseason All-Big 12 team. Kansas State seniors Gabby Gregory and Ayoka Lee were both selected, with junior Serena Sundell an honorable mention. Kansas seniors Taiyanna Jackson and Zakiyah Franklin both made the all-conference team, while senior Holly Kersgieter was honorable mention.

The Lady Wildcats open their season on November 6th, with the Lady Jayhawks opening their season two days later on November 8th.
