Jerome Tang Agrees to Long Term Extension

Jerome Tang is staying in Manhattan long-term, following a trip to the Elite Eight in his debut season.

Tang and the Kansas State Wildcats agree to a new seven-year extension through the 2029-30 season. Tang will receive $3 million this season, and the base salary will increase by $100,000 each year until the final year of the deal, where he will earn $3.6 million.

KSU was picked to finish in last in the preseason poll last season, but finished in third place following a 15-1 start to the season. The Wildcats defeated both Texas and Baylor on the road in January, as well as knocking off Kansas in an overtime thriller in Manhattan.

The Wildcats were a 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament, and defeated Montana State, Kentucky, and Michigan State before losing a close battle with Florida Atlantic in the Elite Eight.

Kansas State is expected to be a conference championship contender when the officiall preseason rankings come out next month.
