KSU Running Back Wins Big 12 Offensive Player of Week

Sophomore running back DJ Giddens has been named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, following one of the best performances by a Kansas State running back in school history.

Giddens finished the afternoon with 207 rushing yards and four touchdowns, the first time in KSU history a running back has rushed for 200 yards and four TDs. Giddens becomes the first Wildcat rusher with a 200 yard game since Alex Barnes in 2018.

Giddens also caught eight passes for 86 yards, bringing his total yardage to 293 in the win over UCF. It is the third most yards from scrimmage in Wildcat history, behind a pair of games from Darren Sproles in 2003 and 2004.

KSU had a difficult task to replace the production of Deuce Vaughn, however so far Giddens is 11th in the nation in rushing yards per game, and fourth in the Big 12 in touchdowns. The Wildcats are on a bye week, and will face Oklahoma State in Stillwater next Friday.
