For the second time in his collegiate career, junior cornerback Cobee Bryant has been named the premiere defender in the Big 12 conference this week.

 

Bryant led a KU defense to a successful afternoon against BYU, forcing a fumble and returning it for the first touchdown of the game. It was the fourth career defensive TD for the defensive back.

 

In the second half, Bryant also added his second interception of the season. Bryant is the first Jayhawk defender with multiple conference player of the week awards since Joe Dineen in 2017.

 

The Jayhawks are freshly inserted in the AP Top 25 at #24, and will travel to Austin to take on the #3 Texas Longhorns this weekend.
