One of the bright spots on the 2023 Royals season has been the development of Bobby Witt Jr, who is rapidly approaching a historic milestone.
The slugger shortstop blasted his 27th home run of the season in a 4-1 loss to the Pirates, moving him within three home runs of a 30-30 season.
No Kansas City Royals player has ever had 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in the same season. Witt already has 38 stolen bases in 2023.
The 23-year-old finished August with a .324 batting average with 16 extra-base hits and 22 runs batted in.
