Former NFL Punter Takes Over at Chetopa

 

A former NFL punter is taking over as head coach for the Chetopa Hornets. Head Coach Tommy Heatherly, who is from Grove, Oklahoma, says he looks forward to sharing his experiences with the team.

 

Heatherly played at NEO A&M before transferring to FIU and was on the Miami Dolphins during training camp last season. He takes over for a program that finished 0-8 last season. Heatherly says he looks forward to making a culture change.

 

This is Chetopa's second season playing 6-Man football and will open the season on the road taking on Altoona-Midway. The Jets were 3-6 last season. The full interview with Coach Heatherly can be heard here.
