Jalon Daniels Confident he'll be Ready for Season Opener

The Kansas Jayhawks finally have good news on the injury front this fall.

Quarterback Jalon Daniels has been nursing back tightness for the majority of preseason practice, having suffered the injury nearly two weeks ago.

Coach Lance Leipold has maintained confidence it's not serious, and that he isn't concerned about the injury, however recently wouldn't commit to Daniels being available in the season opener on September 1st.

Daniels provided some relief this week however, and says he is progressing. Leipold added that Daniels could be back at practice this weekend or early next week.

The star quarterback was named Preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year this summer, and is trending towards being available when the Jayhawks open the season against Missouri State in Lawrence.
