Preseason Injuries Piling Up in Lawrence

 

The season opener is less than three weeks away, and multiple key player for the Kansas Jayhawks have their status up in the air.

 

In the latest team injury report, numerous impact players appear including quarterback Jalon Daniels, linebackers Craig Young and Taiwan Berryhill, and defensive back Mello Dotson. Wide receiver Luke Grimm was also dealing with an injury last week.

 

Head coach Lance Leipold continues to describe all the injuries as mild and not concerning.

 

Daniels has not participated in team reps during practice for three consecutive days. Young and Berryhill are crucial linebackers for the KU defense, and Dotson is a starting outside corner opposite of Cobee Bryant.

 

The status of each player for the season opener against Missouri State on September 1st is unknown at this time.
