Kansas Basketball Wraps up Trip to Puerto Rico

The Kansas Jayhawks played a series of exhibition games in Puerto Rico this week, putting a new look roster on display for the first time.

New star center Hunter Dickinson looked the part, averaging 19 points per contest in limited action. Dickinson is a force in the paint and has elite interior scoring ability, but can also spread the floor and shoot both from mid-range and the three-point line.

Additional cause for excitement was the fast pace of play the KU offense ran, with multiple players emerging as key pieces on the offensive end. Dickinson is projected to be the primary option in Lawrence, but with strong performances from Arterio Morris and Dajuan Harris, the depth appears as good as advertised.

There were stretches were the Jayhawks looked inexperienced however, struggling from both the free throw line and with turnovers. Over the final two exhibition games, KU shot 56% from the charity stripe, and had at least 16 turnovers in all three exhibition games.

The Jayhawks will next be on display to the public for their annual Late Night in the Phog event on October 6th in Lawrence.
