A Coffeyville Community College assistant basketball coach is leaving the program for a new coaching opportunity.

 

Abdul Olusesi is departing the program following four seasons to become the lead assistant coach at Indian Hills Community College, under new head coach Josh Sash.

 

Red Raven head coach Jay Herkelman says the team will miss Olusesi's energy, and his coaching only improved at CCC.

 

Olusesi is a Houston, TX native and already has an impressive coaching resume to his name. Prior to his time at CCC, he also spent a season with East Central Community College, qualifying for the NJCAA Region 23 postseason as defensive coordinator.

 

Herkelman says Olusesi will always be part of the Red Raven family.

 

Olusesi was also a member of the 2019 NJCAA National Championship team that went 27-3, Herkelman's first national championship.
