Chiefs Wide Receiver Retires from Football

A former first round pick and Chiefs wide receiver has retired from football at the age of 27.

John Ross was placed on the reserve/retired list earlier this week, following his decision to step away from professional football. Ross was signed by the Chiefs as depth in January.

The claim to fame for Ross is the NFL combine record 4.22 second 40-yard dash he ran in 2017, establishing him as one of the fastest athletes in modern sports history.

Ross played 37 career games, and recorded 998 total yards and 11 total touchdowns. He was drafted 9th overall in 2017, one spot ahead of Patrick Mahomes.
