One of the nation's top high school defensive backs is heading back to Lawrence for an official visit.

 

Damani Maxson, a safety from Clear Lake, Texas, took an unofficial visit to Kansas last month and will return to the Jayhawks facilities next month for an official trip.

 

Maxson mentioned that the college town feel of Lawrence stood out to him, and that he learned more about the vision and direction of the program.

 

The highly-ranked safety in the class of 2024 has interest from TCU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Houston, Miami, and USC, but is adament that his final destination will be a school and staff that supports him.
