In perhaps the biggest win in school history the 3rd ranked Independence Community College Pirates came from behind to defeat 13th ranked Hutchinson on a long touchdown pass with only seconds remaining in the game Saturday afternoon. With just 6 seconds remaining on the clock and the Pirates trailing the Blue Dragons 28 – 26, Tyriq Starks connected with Deontay Wilson for the 53 yard touchdown. The Pirates got off to a slow start in the contest trailing 21 – 7 at the half. The second half of the game was a different story as the Pirates defense stiffened up and the offense found their rhythm with their backup quarterback.
The 35 – 28 win for ICC over Hutchinson brings the Pirates to 5 – 0 on the season.
