The Region VI tournament kicks off tonight, with both Coffeyville teams playing their first-round matchups at home.

 

The women, as the #6 seed, will take on Northwest Kansas Tech at 5:30 pm. This will be the first meeting between the two teams, as the only scheduled game during the regular season was postponed and never made up. The Red Ravens finished their regular season at 14-6. The Mavericks come into tonight's contest with a record of 6-14.

 

After that opening contest, the Coffeyville men will take on Colby. Despite earning a share of the conference championship, and finishing ranked fifth in the nation with a record of 20-2, the Red Raven men come in as the #4 seed due to Jayhawk Conference rules. The Trojans of Colby are 6-9 and missed a decent chunk of their regular season. The two teams met back in February, with Coffeyville coming out on top at 90-51.

 

Elsewhere in Montgomery County, Independence's two teams will also open at home. The women take on Dodge City at 5:00 pm, with the men meeting Seward County after that.
