In a game that looked like it could be a close thriller turned into a blowout on Friday night as Cherryvale downed Fredonia 76-56.

Cherryvale and Fredonia stood toe-to-toe in the first half and looked like to two fighters connecting on haymakers before the Chargers delivered the knockout punch in the third quarter and cruised to the easy win down the stretch.

Zaine Lantz lead the Chargers with 17 points and yanked down 3 rebounds while Landon Bennett pitched in 15 points and Gavin Hooper added 13 points. Cooper Odell and Layne Mayeske lead the Yellowjacket attack with 13 points a piece and Grayson Coulter was the only other Fredonia player in double digits with 11.

Cherryvale will take to the road next Tuesday to square off against Caney Valley while Fredonia squares off with Leon-Bluestem in the final game of their 3-game home stand on Tuesday. The next Game of the Week on KGGF will feature Sedan hosting West Elk on Tuesday. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30pm.
