Chiefs Top Chargers, Earn 1st Round Bye in Playoffs

 

The Kansas City Chiefs got some help on Sunday afternoon added with their 31-21 win over the L.A. Chargers to earn a first round bye in the upcoming AFC playoffs. 

 

The Dolphins upset the Patriots in Foxborough as 17.5 point underdogs, winning 27-24 which allowed the Chiefs (12-4) to earn the number two seed in the AFC behind the Baltimore Ravens who will have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. 

 

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes threw for 174 yards and one touchdown. Mecole Hardman returned a kickoff 104 yards for a touchdown and Damien Williams added an 84 yard touchdown run. 

 

Kansas City will have time to rest up and prepare for the divisional round as they are set to play on January 12th with the opponent to be determined.
