Frontenac Throttles Caney Valley

Frontenac came out scored early and never looked back as the Raiders beat the Caney Valley Bullpups 34-6 in a chippy district match-up on Friday night.

With Frontenac leading 7-0 near the start of the 3rd quarter, a fight broke out on the field that resulted in multiple ejections for both teams and Frontenac then took control of the game at that point and ripped off 14 straight points to take a 21-0 that included a 96-yard touchdown run from Alex Johnson.

Caney Valley quarterback Trey Richey was knocked out of the ballgame with an unspecified hand injury and his availity for next week is to be determined.

With the loss, Caney Valley drops to 3-3 overall on the season and 0-3 in district play.

The Bullpups travel to Parsons next week in a crucial district matchup that could decide the 4th playoff spot in District 3A-1.
