Homecoming Week ended on a positive note for Oswego. The Indians overcame a 22-0 deficit to storm back and defeat the West Elk Patriots 54-50 in the Game of the Week on the Mighty 690, KGGF.
The Patriots controlled most of the action early in Friday's game, with running back Nic Moreno picking up 4 rushing touchdowns in the first half. However, Oswego would pick up two scores at the half to head into the locker rooms only down 12 at 28-16.
Oswego would prove that they could keep the scores coming in the second half, taking the lead for the first time at 30-28. West Elk and Oswego would trade blows back and forth, but eventually the Indians would pull away to claim the win at 54-50.
Following the loss, the Patriots fall to 3-2. They will host Cedar Vale-Dexter next week. The Indians improve to 4-1 and will hit the road to take on Central Burden next week.
