It was Homecoming Week for Cherryvale, but the Chargers could not cap off the week with a victory. The team fell to Belle Plaine 41-22 on Friday night.

 

From the first two drives, one could've been fooled the two teams would be scoring all night. However, after each team picked up a touchdown on their first drive, neither would score again until the second half.

 

After the half, Belle Plaine would establish dominance, picking up the next four touchdowns to increase its lead to 28 at 34-6. Cherryvale would not go quietly, however, picking up two unanswered scores to bring the score back to 34-22. Unfortunately for the Chargers, an opportunity to put the game within one score fell short and Belle Plaine would pick up one more rushing touchdown to put the game at its final score of 41-22.

 

Belle Plaine improves to 4-0 on the season. Cherryvale, which was the first team to score on the Dragons all season, falls to 2-2 and will face Fredonia next week. The Hornets are also 2-2 and lost 42-7 to Eureka in Week 4.
