Several days of rain forced the postponement of several high school football games Firday night. But a number of teams did get their games in, Coffeyville’s Field Kindley picked up their first win of the season improving to 1 – 1 on the season. Coffeyville defeated Columbus by a final of 46 – 27. Caney Valley improved to 2 – 0 on the season with a with a whipping of Eureka 41 – 6. Elsewhere around southeast Kansas Pittsburg blanked Chanute 52 to 0, Paola defeated Ft Scott 42 to 0. It was Labette County over Independence 36 to 0 and Oswego defeated Marmaton Valley 30 – 22.
A number of area games were postponed last night because of rain soaked fields. Erie at Neodesha, Fredonia at Humboldt and Parsons versus Anderson County will all be played at a later date.
