Lady Red Ravens On The Way to Topeka

The Red Ravens softball team went up against the Allen Community College Red Devils this past weekend for two games to try and make their way to the NJCAA Division II Region Tournament in Topeka. Early on through the first few innings of this game it was very close, though Red Ravens offense went off in the top of the 4th. Myers kicked off the inning with a 2-run homerun, and the power continued as ater on Rebecca Luper hit a three-run shot over the left field fence to giving the Red Ravens some space which they needed as the Red Devils answered in the bottom of the 6th posting 3 runs to bring the game closer. The offense put up two more runs in the top of the 7th inning.  Giving them the gap they would need Ravens win game one 11-8.  Dawson threw a complete game for the Red Ravens earning her 12th win on the mound. In game two Allen Community College Red Devils  got up quickly scoring five runs on the board in the 2nd inning. Red Ravens offense didn’t miss a step from game one and answered with a big 8 run 6th inning.  That would be the inning and runs that they need as the ladies win game two 9-8 and sweep the Red Devils. The Coffeyville Red Ravens will travel to Topeka to face Hutchinson Community College at 12:00 pm on May 5th in the NJCAA Division II Region Tournament.
