Cherryvale Students Art to Be Hung in LaTurner's Office in DC

A Cherryvale High School student's artwork is selected by a U.S. Congressman.

Junior Morgan Lasco learned that one of her paintings will soon be hanging in Representative Jake LaTurner's office in Washington, D.C. Lasco submitted her painting, which she titled “Freedom and Rebirth,” in a congressional art competition sponsored by the Congressional Institute. Each U.S. congress member is allowed to sponsor an art competition featuring high school artists from their home districts.

LaTurner picked four exhibits to be placed in his office as a display of Kansas-grown talent. Lasco’s painting won first place in the Creativity division in LaTurner’s district.
