Fire crews across southern Missouri respond to a call of a fire at a Verona chemical plant.

 The fire occurred around 7pm last night at the B-C-P Ingredients plant. According to the Aurora Rural Fire Department, the blaze occurred in a building that grinds and dries corn cobs and that the fire began in the dryer.

B-C-P Ingredients has faced violations and fines from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration since 2021. In July 2023, OSHA said the plant continued to endanger workers.

There were no injuries reported and the investigation into the cause of the fire continues.
