Flood Water Expected to Recede Soon

After severe weather and torrential rains on Saturday, Montgomery County crews have been busy keeping an eye on the flood waters.

County Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson says the flood waters should reach their peak by tomorrow morning.

Whitson says none of the upstream reservoirs are releasing much water, so everything in the rivers now is all run-off. He says the flooding has caused some road closures around Elk City Reservoir.

There have been road closures elsewhere in the county. Public Works Director Jim Wright says there will be barricades out in areas that are prone to flooding.

Flood waters are expected to begin to recede in the next 24 hours.
