The Montgomery County commission discusses more issues with area bridges.
At this week's commission meeting, Public Works Director Jim Wright told commissioners that the State Historical Society was interested in repairing only one of three bridges located on 8th street east of Coffeyville. Wright says the county is at odds with what the historical society wants.
Wright said that the state originally wanted to repair only one of the bridges, and then redesign the roadway so that the other two would not be needed. He asked commissioners to reaffirm their position to repair all of the bridges or none of them. Commissioner Mike Cordray asks a “what if” question.
Wright told the commission that he would continue his negotiations with the state and then report back any progress.
