With summer just around the corner, the courthouse air conditioning is top of mind for the Nowata County Commission.

 At this week's meeting, Washington and Nowata County District Attorney Will Drake announced the main way the county will deal with warmer weather. Drake says, when the temps get too high, it will be too hot for employees to be in the courthouse.

 In other business, Nowata County Sheriff Jason McClain asked commissioners for $16,000 to purchase two vehicles for the police squad.

 The Nowata County Commission meets Mondays at 9am in the Nowata County courthouse Annex.
