The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of an inmate at the Lansing Correctional Facility.

 44 year old Robert Edwin Blanchette was found unresponsive in his cell yesterday. Staff and EMS attempted life-saving measures but were unable to revive him. The cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.

 Blanchette was serving a life sentence for 2003 convictions of first degree murder and kidnapping in the commission of a crime in Reno County.

 This is the second death of a Lansing inmate in less than a month.
