Parsons Teachers Receive Mini-Grants for Classroom Use

 

 Parsons teacher receive ten mini-grants from the Parsons Education Foundation totaling $3,938.46.

 Each year, teachers are invited to submit grant applications requesting funding for meaningful activities and items that enhance academics and all other aspects of learning in Parsons schools, that fall outside the normal school budget. The applications are reviewed and judged by a three-member board.

Among grants given include $560 to Lincoln Preschool to purchase three heavy-duty tricycles, $200 for Parsons Middle School for barista aprons for students working at the student-run business, the Magic Bean, and $300 to Parsons High School to cover costs of taking an Literature class to participate in the Sedgwick Co. Zoo Educational Program “Is there a Doctor in the Zoo.”

The Parsons Education Foundation also provides scholarships to graduating seniors.
