Governor Kelly Announces Funding for Digital Opportunities

 

 Governor Laura Kelly announces more than $8 million to begin implementing the Kansas Digital Equity Plan.

 A major part of the plan is improve the availability of broadband access in rural areas of the state. The Kansas Office of Broadband Development says in order to improve the economy in the state, it is critical to meet the digital needs of farmers and ranchers.

Improved broadband access is also expected to improve health care access and quality of care in rural areas.

Governor Kelly called the Digital plan a significant milestone in knocking down barriers to affordable, high-speed internet in every corner of the state.
