A Jasper, MO, man convicted of a 2021 rape of a 13 year old girl is sentenced to 40 years in prison.
30 year old John V. Estes was convicted in February of 1st degree statutory rape. Earlier today, Jasper County Circuit Judge Dean Dankelson sentenced Estes to 40 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. The families of the victim were in court for the hearing.
Representatives of the Jasper Police Department praised the courage and strength of the young victim during the judicial process.
