Enrollment Up at USD 445

After years of little change, enrollment is trending up at Coffeyville Public Schools.

Deputy Superintendent of Business Michael Speer shared enrollment data at last night's USD 445 School Board Meeting and says he's excited about the numbers.

Applications for free lunch have also decreased while those paying the full price for lunch are on the rise.

Board members also heard an update from Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas, which reported more than 20,000 total visits with school-based nursing over the past year. Staff also noted how telehealth has reduced the time students spend missing class because of a doctor's visit. The board also approved the purchase of new sand filters to repair the pool at Field Kindley for just over $59,000. Much of the funding will come from an existing pool fund. The pool is expected to be usable in about 14 weeks.
