The City of Caney and USD 436 are holding a mock crash event to educate young drivers.

On Friday at 2:00 pm, Caney Police, Fire and EMS are conducting a mock crash at the intersection of Bullpup Boulevard and Vine Street. Barricades will be set up on Vine Street at Bording Avenue and on Bullpup Boulevard at Bradley Street. Mock crash events educate teens and young adults about the tragedy of crashes and reinforce the importance of using seat belts, paying attention behind the wheel, and showing the consequences of driving under the influence or distracted driving.

The goal is to reduce crashes, injuries and deaths involving younger drivers and their passengers by using visuals to demonstrate real-life consequences.
