The Parsons City Commission discusses new water meters and a new parking ordinance.
At this week's meeting, commissioners dealt with resident complaints about the installation of new water meters. In an attempt to keep lawns looking nice, it seems that some residents may have back-filled the new meters prematurely. City Manager Debbie Lamb says it's likely that some of those who filled in the dirt may not have a new meter installed.
Commissioners also discussed a proposed city ordinance that would prohibit residents from parking cars and motorcycles in their yards. Commissioner Kevin Cruse says the need for the new ordinance comes from citizens.
The Parsons City Commission is using similar ordinances in Pittsburg and Coffeyville as a guide for the new regulation. No action was taken on the matter at this week's meeting. The next Parsons City Commission meeting will be April 15th
