Damage Surveys from Oklahoma Tornadoes

 

The National Weather Service has completed damage surveys and is providing information on Monday's tornadoes in northeast Oklahoma.

 

Five separate tornadoes were surveyed, all rated EF1 with wind speeds between 90 and 110 mph. The Hominy tornado developed around 7:15 p.m. near the intersection of County Road 5408 and 5257 and moved east-northeast. It had a path length of 7 miles. Numerous trees were uprooted and power poles were blown down.

 

The Wynona tornado started around 7:30 east of County Road 2665 along 330 Road. The track was 5.5 miles and the tornado blew the roof from a garage, uprooted or snapped trees, and blew down power poles.

 

The Barnsdall tornado started around 7:40, had a track just over 2 miles and started just east of Highway 11 over the southeastern side of Barnsdall. It damaged homes, destroyed outbuilding and blew down trees and power poles as it moved east-northeast.

 

The Ochelata tornado developed just west of the Osage/Washington County line between 2700 Road and 2600 Road.  The tornado track was just under 5 miles and dissipated east of Highway 75.  It uprooted trees, damaged outbuildings and blew down power poles.

 

The Delaware tornado lasted about 4 miles and started around 8:40 just north of 1600 Road and west of 4120 Road. It moved east-northeast and uprooted trees, snapped large limbs, and damaged power poles as well as outbuildings. No injuries were reported in any of the tornadoes.
