Montgomery County Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson asks the county commission to help shore up county fire response.

 At yesterday's Montgomery County Commission meeting, Whitson asked commissioners to allow his department to open up for bids to meet the needs of county fire departments. Whitson says weekend fire runs revealed some issues with important equipment.

Commissioners approved allowing Emergency Management to begin the bid process. In other business, commissioners heard options for new software for county management from HR Director Ben Brubaker as well as approving a county road closure brought up by Public Works Director Jim Wright.
