If you're waking up to some smoke and haze this morning, there's a likely explanation.
According to the Wichita office of the National Weather Service, yesterday was a near-perfect day for prescribed burning in eastern Kansas. The lack of wind that made the conditions ideal for burning may cause some of that smoke to stick around into this morning. The main concern is a drop in air quality for those sensitive to these type of conditions. The smoke is expected to clear out today.
