New lights will be coming to a highway interchange in southeast Kansas.
Starting on April 3rd, the Kansas Department of Transportation expects to begin a project to install new light towers on the U.S. 69 and U.S. 54 interchange north of Fort Scott. The highway shoulders will be closed at the work zone with minimal effects to traffic. KDOT awarded the construction contract of $396,512 to Phillips Southern Electric Company Inc. of Wichita. Weather permitting, the work should be finished by late May.
