The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for northern Osage County in northeastern Oklahoma until 9:15 PM.
* At 817 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Foraker to 4 miles southwest of Pearsonia to 6
miles southeast of Burbank, moving east at 35 mph.
Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

Severe thunderstorms prompted several tornado warnings in southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma this evening. A tornado warning was issued starting with the Caney area and eventually included Coffeyville. Several residents reported seeing rotation and hearing a roaring noise in Coffeyville for several minutes. The storm broke up before it reached Coffeyville, but dumped torrential rain in the area and briefly produced pea-sized hail. No significant damage has been reported at this time.

The area included in the "slight" risk category for severe weather has shifted to the east and now includes the primary KGGF listening area in southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma. Quarter to half-dollar size hail is possible, there's a chance of damaging winds and a tornado is possible along the Kansas/Oklahoma line. KGGF will provide on-air severe weather coverage if needed tonight.

Severe weather is possible this afternoon and evening for parts of Kansas and Oklahoma.
According to the Storm Prediction Center, a slight chance of severe weather is possible centered around south central Kansas and north central Oklahoma. Coffeyville is on the edge between the slight and marginal risk categories. If storms develop, they will be possible between 4 and 11 p.m. tonight. Quarter-size hail and a brief tornado cannot be ruled out. If severe weather threatens the area, KGGF will provide severe weather coverage as needed.
