The Independence High School Wrestling team continues its historic season.
The IHS boys wrestling team will send nine wrestlers to the 4A State tournament in Salina next weekend. The team had a solid outing at Regional competition over the weekend with two wrestlers – sophomore Colton Minnick and senior Kohen Wright – taking home first place medals. IHS Head Coach Zac Comacho says the team has accomplished a lot, but there is one more tournament left.
The team took runners-up honors at Regionals coming in 2nd to Paola High School. For IHS, this is their best finish in the team's 50 year history.
