Weekend Shooting in Coffeyville

The victim of this weekend's shooting has been identified.  According to the Coffeyville Police Department, 39-year-old Ramon Burnett of Coffeyville was transported to CRMC by EMS and was later pronounced deceased.  The department has also confirmed Michael McGinnis and Raymond McGinnis as suspects in homicide case.

 

Coffeyville Police Chief Kwin Bromley is thanking the Montgomery Co. Sheriff’s Office and Kansas Bureau of Investigation for their assistance in this investigation.  Anyone with information should call CPD at 620-252-6160. Law enforcement respond to a report of shots fired in Coffeyville over the weekend.

 

Saturday night around 7 p.m., Coffeyville Police and EMS were dispatched to the area of 10th and Hall streets near the King Food Saver parking lot. The Coffeyville Police Department has not yet released any information regarding the incident, but 28-year-old Michael Lynn McGinnis and 50-year-old Raymond William McGinnis were arrested over the weekend on charges of 2nd-degree murder including aggravated endangering a child, reckless situation to a child, possession of hallucinogenic drugs, use of drug paraphernalia, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal discharge of a firearm in an occupied dwelling with great bodily harm and unlawful discharge of a firearm in city limits. At least one person was injured in the incident, but there have been no other updates at this time.
